MAIN SCREEN

The main screen consists of two parts: Control panel and File list.

Control panel is comprised of buttons and links, which serve to manage listed files. Each element of the control panel can be enabled or disabled using Setup screen. If a button is disabled it will not appear on the control panel. The only elements that can not be disabled are Path bar where the current path is printed and Pattern (or wildcards). You can type the desired path manually and hit Go button in order to change current location. If the path you entered does not exists (or you have not permission to to read the destination) error message will be displayed above the Path.

In the Pattern window located beside the Path you can type wildcards to filter the list of files and directories. Wildcards are common for the current system. They are transmitted to the system as is without parsing. It is extremely useful when file list is too long.

Files and directories ale listed below. Directories are always placed above the files. Directory names are printed in bold. The listing consists of:

Checkboxes used to select file(s) or directory(s) in order to perform a desired task on them.
Name column
Type column
And attribute columns selected on the Setup screen

Name and type columns can not be disabled on Setup and are always visible.

The list can be ordered ascending and descending by any attribute including name and type. To sort the list ascending by an attribute you must click on the attribute name. To sort the list descending click on the same attribute name once again.

Directory and file names are clickable. Clicking on directory name and files of different types may have dissimilar results. Clicking on a directory will result in changing of current location. Clicking on a file name in some cases will launch the application associated with the selected file type on your local machine. E.g. HTML file will be opened in web browser as a web page, multimedia file will launch multimedia player. Actually the files are treated in accordance with MIME types defined in Setup.

Disk space occupied by the current directory is displayed on the bottom.
