Backup files are kept in the user's dedicated directory named using the user name and MySQL server location the user is connected to. For example a user username1 is connected to host1 and another user with the same name username1 is connected to host2. The two users will use different directories named username1.host1 and username1.host2.

Restore function runs using binary mysql client. Full path to binary mysql client must be specified on SETUP page.

All backup files can exist as plain text files, compressed zip files and compressed gzip files. Any script in plain text format can be compressed using zip or gzip methods. The method used to compress files is defined on SETUP page. It is not necessary to decompress a file in order to run it. When a compressed file is selected, the program will decompress it before the execution.

Mysql Data Manager allows to upload files created on local computer.
These files should be of zip, gzip or plain text format. Zip files should not contain more than one compressed file inside, they also should not contain path info.

NOTE: If you upload a file 'filename' into the user directory where file 'filename.zip' or 'filename.gz' already exists you must use 'overwrite if exists' option, otherwise the file will not be uploaded.

To run backup file select a database, select backup file and hit `RUN SCRIPT’ button.

If the database is located on the same host you are connected to, just select a database from the pulldown menu. If you need to connect to a foreign host, fill out the `CHANGE LOCATION' form and hit the `Connect' button.

Table list under the database name serves only to show, which tables exist in the selected database.

Before a backup file is applied to the selected database its header can be previewed. If the header of the uploaded file is not specially formatted for that purpose the program will show the first 12 lines of the file.

Previewed file can be executed on the selected database if you hit `APPLY TO SELECTED DATABASE' button.

Simplified file manager allows to download, delete and compress files.

It is not recommended to use 'Back' or 'Forward' buttons of your web browser. If you are not sure that the current page reflects correct information use 'RELOAD' button' in order to update the page.
